Organizations

Chatham University Falk School of Sustainability

The Falk School of Sustainability at Chatham University was founded in 2010 after the tremendous gift of the 388-acre Eden Hall Campus from the Eden Hall Foundation. One of the earliest schools of its kind in the country, the Falk School is a wellspring for leadership and education to overcome current and future sustainability challenges.

Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society

The Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society (RCC) is an international, interdisciplinary center for research and education in the environmental humanities and social sciences. A nonprofit institution, the RCC was founded in 2009 as a joint initiative of Munich’s Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität and the Deutsches Museum, with the generous support of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Rachel Carson Homestead, Springdale, PA

The mission of the Rachel Carson Homestead Association is to preserve, restore, and interpret Rachel Carson’s birthplace; to design and implement environmental education programs and to educate the community, guided by her environmental ethic and sense of wonder.

Rachel Carson Landmark Alliance

Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring – the book that helped launch the modern environmental movement and brought about the founding of our US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – is considered sufficiently important for the U.S. Department of Interior to designate the house where Carson lived while writing it as a National Historic Landmark – among the highest honors that can be given to a historic site.

Silent Spring Institute

Silent Spring Institute is staffed and led by researchers dedicated to science that serves the public interest. We partner with physicians, public health and community advocates and other scientists to identify and break the links between environmental chemicals and women’s health, especially breast cancer.
